NEW YORK May 8 (Reuters) - JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM.N: Cotización) on Tuesday said it agreed to stop making payments to alumni associations, ending arrangements that let it market loans directly to graduates.

JPMorgan spokesman Thomas Kelly said the third-largest U.S. bank recently signed New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo's code of conduct for student lending practices, designed to end financial arrangements between lenders and schools that could breed conflicts of interest.

Chase said this code also prohibits lenders agreements with alumni associations. The bank will end its agreements with 105 alumni associations by May 15, Kelly said.
